Egypt To Complete Mandatory Electronic Invoicing Rollout

Egypt is expecting to complete implementation of mandatory electronic invoicing requirements from April next year.

An extension will apply for individual professionals, as announced by the Government.

Electronic invoicing requirements for business-to-business and business-to-government supplies were first introduced in July 2021.

In April 2022, a pilot scheme was introduced for business-to-consumer transactions and electronic invoicing then became mandatory from July 1, 2022.

Meanwhile, individuals were required to issue electronic invoices only from December 15, 2022. However, this deadline has been extended to April 30, 2023, following protests.
